Men's Basketball 2009-2010 Outlook

The Rosemont College men's basketball team is set to begin its first ever season in 2009-2010.  The team will be led by Head Coach Ryan Tozer.  A graduate of Eastern University, Tozer brings a wealth of knowledge and leadership to the team having coached at Holy Family University and La Salle University.  He will be assisted by Lewis Garrison, Vincent Clark, and Joe Corbett.

This year's squad is young with 12 first years, one sophomore and two juniors.  While the team may be fresh faced, they bring loads of skill and talent that will be sure to take them far in the tough Colonial States Athletic Conference.

The team will be captained by junior Greg Gardner.  Gardner, a forward, is a transfer from Manor Junior College and has two collegiate years experience.

The squad's other upperclassmen are sophomores William Hayes Webb and Harrison Carsillo.  Hayes-Webb, a guard, is a transfer from the Adirondack Community College, and has a year of collegiate experience under his belt.   Carsillo, a transfer from Holy Family University, also brings a year of collegiate experience.  Both should help bring leadership to the team.

Though they may be new to the collegiate scene, the first years on the team hail from strong high school programs including Archbishop Ryan, BOK, Chichester, Collingswood, Friends Select, Freire Charter, Henry E. Lackey, Kennedy Kendrick, Millville, and Williamstown

First year guards will be Justin Chaney, Rus Slawter, DeAndre Jordan, Mitch Carsillo, and Anthony Keiter.

Tremell Green, Malik Carter, Brad Miller, Abraham Bah and Corey Smith make up the first year forwards.

Coach Tozer is optimistic on the season's prospects and thinks the team will be very competitive against its opponents. Rosemont opens its season hosting Penn State-Brandywine on Thursday, November 19th at 7pm in Alumnae Gym.
