The Ramblers ended their season 8-15 overall and 5-11 in the Pennsylvania Athletic Conference (PAC). Though the Ramblers did not have a winning season in the statistical sense, they were able to make many strides and have several individual and team standout performances. Head Coach Andy McGovern returned for his 7th season. He is now 53-112 at Rosemont. Also returning for his 5th season as assistant was Brian Mulligan
As a team, the Ramblers finished up the season averaging 52.2 points per game with a field goal percentage of .344. The Ramblers were also strong in the paint averaging 37.6 rebounds per game. They also broke the school record for three point field goals made with 110. Their three point field goal percentage was .318, third overall in the PAC.
The Ramblers had some strong individual standouts this year. Senior captain Andrea Boyle (Swarthmore, PA/Cardinal O’Hara) led the team in scoring with 301 points (13.7 ppg). Boyle was strong from beyond the arc sinking 42 three pointers and having a team and conference leading .519 three point percentage. Her percentage also broke the school record, which she previously held. In addition, Boyle was solid on the line with a .729 free throw percentage. She finishes her career with a lifetime 74.9 free throw percentage, a Rosemont career record.
Sophomore Adriann Demchenko (Philadelphia, PA/George Washington) was also a force to be reckoned with. She was second on the team in scoring with 237 points (10.8 ppg). She was a presence in the paint leading the team and placing second in the conference with 11.7 rebounds per game. Demchenko was first in the PAC with offensive rebounds averaging 4.68 and second in defensive rebounds with 7 per game.
The Ramblers also welcomed many new players to the team. First years Christa Bednarek (Philadelphia, PA/St. Basils), Karen Boyle (Swarthmore, PA/Archbishop Prendergast), and Emerald Robinson (Philadelphia, PA/Prep Charter) all had solid season. Karen Boyle opened up her account at Rosemont with 136 points this season. Bednarek was second on the team in assists with 48. Robinson scored in double figures this season in four games. Junior transfer and captain Alesha Butler (Philadelphia, PA/William Penn) led the team in steals this year with 39. Sophomore Janice Henderson (Greenwood, DE/Sussex Tech) started her career off at Rosemont strong with 135 points.
Rounding out the squad this year were juniors Emily Montanez (Philadelphia, PA/Frankford), Jordan Moon (Wilmington, DE/Sanford School), and Jessica Williams (Brigantine, NJ/Archbishop Carroll) as well as first year Amira Alexander (Philadelphia, PA/JR Masterman).
Though the Ramblers lose Andrea Boyle, the team is very hopeful and excited for next year’s season. Now that the Ramblers have a season under their belts and with all but one returning, next year’s prospects are looking bright.
