2007-2008 Season Overview

The 2007 Rambler field hockey team was a season of firsts. It marked the first season of head coach Amanda Rogers. The first goal scored as well as the first win in two years. While many strides were made, the Ramblers still had a tough season going 1-11 overall and 1-9 in the Pennsylvania Athletic Conference.

As a team, the Ramblers notched 4 goals, 311 saves, and 8 defensive saves. They averaged 4.8 shots per game as well as earned 41 penalty corners. 

Leading the team this year were captains Kristen Reilly (SR/Pottstown, PA/Boyertown) and Elizabeth Kemp (SO/Williamstown, NJ/Williamstown). Reilly, a starter for the last four years notched 1 assist on the year in the forward position. Kemp tallied 1 goal and was strong in midfield.

In addition to Kemps goal, three other Ramblers scored this season. Junior Alexis Feyoudehappy (New York, NY/School of the Future) and first year Ashley Conti (Little Falls, NJ/Passaic Valley) both scored against Cedar Crest College. Sophomore Alex Benfold (Cherry Hill, NJ/Bishop Eustace) notched a goal against Alvernia College

Stepping in as goalkeeper for the first time was sophomore Adriann Demchenko (Philadelphia, PA/George Washington). Demchenko had 311 saves this year breaking the previous record of 284. In addition, Demchenko broke the single game record for saves with 47 against Marywood University. She also was strong in penalties saving 5 out of 6 strokes this season. 

In the defense position sophomore Mary Kate Dugan (Upper Darby, PA/Upper Darby) was strong as the central defensemen. Helping her out was junior Alain Murphy (Avalon, NJ), sophomores Disha Shah (East Meadow, NY/East Meadow), Nichole Liccio (Mantua, NJ/Friends Select), and first year Zita Mvula (Philadelphia, PA/Franklin Learning Center). Shah led the defense with 3 defensive saves, while Liccio had 2.

Rounding out the team were sophomores Laura Kyle (Doylestown, PA/Central Bucks East), Colleen Barrett (Philadelphia, PA/Nazareth) and Lindley Rittweger (Newburgh, NY/Newburgh).
