MALVERN – First year Rodney Aguirre (Hammonton/Oakcrest) scored the game winner in the Rosemont College men’s soccer team 2-1 against Immaculata University. This win lifts the team to 4-6 overall and 2-3 in the Colonial States Athletic Conference.
Aguirre’s goal came in the 40th minute when he took a deflection from Immaculata’s keeper and put it in the back of the net giving the Ravens a 2-0 lead.
Rosemont opened up the scoring in the 22nd minute when junior co-captain Will McLaughlin (Upper Darby/Neumann Gorretti) took a loose ball in front of the cage and pushed it in.
The Mighty Mac’s only response came in the 57th to come within one, but it would not be enough.
First year goalkeeper Ron Vogelei (Bensalem) recorded eight saves. He is ranked fourth in the conference in save percentage (.790).
Rosemont next hosts Baptist Bible College for a conference match on Saturday, October 17th at 1pm.
