CYCLONES BLOW THROUGH ROSEMONT BATTERS

HACKETTSTOWN NJ – The Centenary Cyclone pitchers proved too much for the Rosemont Ramblers to handle under this afternoon’s beautiful skies at Tannery Field in Hackettstown. The Cyclones swept today’s doubleheader by scores of 12-0 and 15-0. The losses move Rosemont’s overall record to 0-19 (0-14 CSAC) while Centenary improved to 21-8 (13-3 CSAC).
Centenary pitcher Sarah Olsen held the Ramblers in check in game one. Olsen surrendered only one hit, to junior Adriann Demchenko (Philadelphia, PA/George Washington). Sophomore Ashley Conti (Little Falls, NJ/Passaic Valley) drew a walk and was the only other Rambler to reach base against Olsen. The Cyclones put up a 7-spot in the first inning and put together 14 hits as they coasted the rest of the way against the Rambler’s pitchers, sophomore Heather Daneker (New Cumberland, PA/Cedar Cliff) and Becky Zimmerman (Lebanon, PA/Annville Cleona).
Cyclone pitching continued to overpower the Ramblers in the nightcap as Centenary’s Kristin Durborow yielded four walks but no hits and 12 strikeouts on her way to a 5-inning no-hitter. With Rosemont trailing 4-0 going into the third, Centenary scored six in the third and five in the fourth inning as part of their 16-hit attack to put this game out of reach of the Ramblers.
