ROSEMONT – The Ramblers were swept in a double header against Immaculata University in conference action on Thursday 0-12, 4-16. This loss drops the team to 1-22 overall and 1-16 in the Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC).
In game two, the Ramblers jumped off to a 1-0 lead in the first when first year Caitlin Mazzoni (Middletown, Del./Middletown) hit a grounder to second to score sophomore Ashley Conti (Little Falls, N.J./Passaic Valley) who led the inning off with a double.
It would be the only time the team would leave as they allowed 11 runs in the first two innings to put it out of reach.
Conti finished the day two for five (.400) with a double and one run.
Rosemont threatened in the third after the first three batters singled, but the team was only able to convert that to two runs, one of which was from an RBI single from sophomore Kris Muff (Upper Darby/Arch. Prendergast).
The team scored its last run in the fifth when Mazzoni started off the inning with a single down the right field line. She would come all the way around the bases and score off a wild pitch.
In game one, Rosemont had a tough time against the Mighty Mac pitching only getting three hits the whole game. Things weren’t much better in the field as the team committed four errors which led to nine of the 12 runs being unearned.
Mazzoni recorded one strikeout and three earned runs in four innings of action.
Also for the Ramblers, first year Rebecca Zimmerman (Lebanon/Annville Cleona) finished the day two for four (.500) with a double and a run. Junior Adriann Demchenko (Philadelphia/George Washington) also finished two for four (.500) with one RBI.
Rosemont will head home for the last home game of the season against Neumann College on Friday, April 24th at 3pm.
