OFFENSIVE SHOW FROM DEFENDERS GIVES 3-0 WIN OVER ROSEMONT

ROSEMONT – Baptist Bible junior Marlie Kneifel recorded 20 kills and 10 digs in the Rosemont College women’s volleyball team’s 3-0 loss to Baptist Bible College Saturday.  This loss drops the Ravens to 5-14 overall and 0-19 in the Colonial States Athletic Conference while the Defenders improve to 11-12 and 6-3 respectively.

Rosemont’s best set came in the second, when they jumped out to a 3-1 lead.  The Defenders would go onto level eventually taking the set 25-18.  Rosemont would go on to drop the third set 25-9 and opened up the match with a 25-10 loss.

First year Katelin Broughton notched 38 assists for the Defenders.  As a whole, the team recorded 44 kills and 69 digs.

For the Ravens, junior co-captain Karen Boyle (Swarthmore/Arch. Prendergast) led the team with four kills and 14 digs.  Junior co-captain Christa Bednarek (Philadelphia/St. Basils) tallied 10 assists.

Post match, Rosemont honored its three graduating seniors: Jessica DeMaskey (West Chester/West Chester East). Janise Henderson (Greenwood, Del/Sussex Tech), and Tofunmi Osundeko (DuBois). 

Rosemont will close out the season when they travel to Centenary College on Tuesday, October 27 for a 7pm match.
