ROSEMONT – Despite 18 saves from junior goalkeeper Adriann Demchenko (Philadelphia/George Washington), the Rosemont field hockey team were unable to get any offense going as they fell 3-0 in their season-opener against Wells College. This loss starts the Ramblers 0-1 for their overall record.

Play was back and forth in the first 18 minutes of the game until Wells’ Gabriella Decker broke through the Rambler defense at 19:03 and scored the opening goal of the contest. The goal cage would only be silent for one minute as Paige Corneby followed with the second goal at 20:43.

After holding off the Express offense for the rest of the half, Rosemont came out in the second and were able to get several shots off against Wells goalkeeper Beth Cereo. It would not be the team’s day though as forward Liz Barclay scored the Express’ third and final goal of the day at 44:37.

For the Ramblers, junior captain Liz Kemp (Williamstown, N.J./Williamstown) led the team in shots with three. Also putting in offensive efforts were junior Laura Kyle (Doylestown/Central Bucks East) and first year Liz Goodwin (Blandon/Fleetwood Area) with two shots each and junior Mary Kate Dugan (Upper Darby) with one.

The Ramblers continue their non-conference schedule as they travel to Arcadia University on Tuesday, September 2nd at 4pm.
