Allentown, PA – The Pennsylvania Athletic Conference (PAC) held their annual tennis individual championships this past Friday the 26th and Saturday the 27th.  Rosemont sent their #1 singles player sophomore Priyanka Reddy (Syosset, NY/Syosset) and #1 doubles team of Reddy and senior captain Kristy Bannon (Hanover Township/Hanover).  Throughout the weekend event, the Ramblers gave stellar performances and came out with a finals appearance and championship.

In #1 singles, Reddy came into the championship undefeated.  She was 12-0 this season.  Including last year’s undefeated season, which resulted in an individual championship, Reddy is 25-0 in her collegiate career.  In the semi-finals, she took on 2005 singles champion Dina DiTaranto (Cabrini).  Though it was tough in the second set, Reddy came out with the victory 6-1, 2-6, 6-2 and a berth into the championships for the second year in a row where she was to take on Davida Phillips (Gwynedd Mercy).  Much like her semifinal match, Reddy had a tough second set, but came out with the win 1-6, 6-1, 6-2.  This is Reddy’s second PAC Championship.

In #1 Doubles Reddy and Bannon came in to the championship 10-2 losing to only Cabrini and Immaculata.  In their semi-final match, they took on Immaculata.  Bannon and Reddy came out of the gate strong looking to get revenge on their regular season loss.  When the match ended, it was Rosemont on top 8-4.  In the finals, they took on Cabrini College.  Reddy and Bannon fought hard, but came up short losing the match 2-8.

Congratulations to Reddy and Bannon for their outstanding efforts in the regular and post season.  For more information on Reddy and Bannon and all of Rosemont athletics, please visit our website at www.rosemont.edu.
