RAVENS COME FROM BEHIND TO WIN 5-4 OVER KEYSTONE

LA PLUME – Earning its fourth straight conference win, the Rosemont College women’s tennis team defeated Keystone College 5-4 Saturday. This win improves the team to 5-3 overall and 5-0 in the Colonial States Athletic Conference.

After starting off slow and dropping two of three doubles matches, the Ravens clawed their way back getting key victories at first, second and fourth singles. The match was clinched when first year Lauren Rivera (Penn Valley/Harriton) won her sixth singles match in a tough three-setter 2-6, 6-3, 6-3.

Senior captain Priyanka Reddy (Syosset, N.Y./Syosset) won her first singles match in straight sets 6-1, 6-1. She and first doubles partner Olesya Kuchma (St. Davids/Radnor) dominated their match winning 8-1. Kuchma also had a strong singles performance winning 6-3, 6-1.

Kuchma is now 6-2 in her rookie season with a near perfect 4-1 conference record.

Rounding out the winners was first year Kate Clarkson (Bensalem). She edged out her fourth singles opponent 7-5, 6-3.

Rosemont now improves to 2-0 against Keystone in head to head competitions.

The Ravens will host Cedar Crest College on Wednesday, September 30th at 3:30pm.
