RAVENS MAKE IT THREE IN A ROW

ROSEMONT – The Rosemont College women’s tennis team won its third straight conference game against College of Notre Dame Tuesday 7-2. This win improves the team to 3-3 overall and 3-0 in the Colonial States Athletic Conference.
The Ravens took two of three doubles match with senior captain Priyanka Reddy (Syosset, N.Y./Syosset) and first year Olesya Kuchma (St. Davids/Radnor) paired to take first doubles 8-3. First years Barbara Lally (Philadelphia/Penn Charter) and Karis Coad (Baltimore, Md./Clarkstown South) were a strong partnership at third doubles winning 8-0.
In singles action, Rosemont pulled out some close three set matches. First year Kate Clarkson (Bensalem) rallied from a set down to take fourth singles 4-6, 6-2, 10-6. It was a similar story for third singles player Coad who came back and won 6-7, 6-4, 10-5. Lally also edged past her fifth singles opponent 6-1, 3-6, 6-2.
Rounding out the winners were Reddy and first year Lauren Rivera (Penn Valley/Harriton). Reddy took her first singles match in straight sets 6-0, 6-1 while Rivera broke her sixth singles opponent every time winning 6-0, 6-0.
The Ravens now improve to 2-2 against Notre Dame in head to head competition.
Rosemont will continue its conference schedule when they take on Baptist Bible College on Thursday, September 24th at 3:30pm.
