RAVENS SWEEP IMMACULATA 9-0

MALVERN – The Rosemont College women’s tennis team swept conference rival Immaculata University 9-0 Thursday for the team’s first win of the season. The Ravens improve to 1-3 overall and 1-0 in the Colonial States Athletic Conference.

This is the first time since the 2005 season Rosemont has won a match 9-0. The last time came against Wesley College on October 24th.

In singles action, all Raven players won in straight sets. First years Karis Coad (Baltimore, Md./Clarkstown South), Kate Clarkson (Bensalem), Barbara Lally (Philadelphia/Penn Charter), and Lauren Rivera (Penn Valley/Harriton) all notched their firsts collegiate career wins at third, fourth, fifth and sixth singles respectively.

Senior captain Priyanka Reddy (Syosset, N.Y./Syosset) improves to 4-0 at first singles while first year Olesya Kuchma (St. Davids/Radnor) got her third career win at second singles.

Rosemont will face a tough CSAC opponent as they travel to Cabrini College on Saturday, September 12th for a noon match.
