RAVENS SWEPT IN QUAD MATCH

SCRANTON– The Rosemont College women’s volleyball team was swept in a conference quad match Saturday. The Ravens lost to Colonial States Athletic Conference opponents Keystone College, Marywood University and Philadelphia Biblical University. These losses drop the team to 5-12 overall and 0-7 in the CSAC.

In an early morning match, Rosemont took on Keystone to start the day. The teams took the match to four sets with the Giants on the winning side besting the Ravens 25-19, 27-29, 25-15, 25-14. First year Robin Renodo (Brooklyn, N.Y./Bishop Laughlin) had 11 kills while junior co-captain Christa Bednarek (Philadelphia/St. Basils) notched a season high 24 assists.

Same story different game in the second match against Marywood, with Rosemont losing in four 25-23, 24-26, 25-22, 25-15. Rosemont as a team had 88 digs, a season best, as well as six service aces.

Match three was a clean sweep with Philadelphia Biblical winning 25-9, 25-13, 25-11. The Ravens could only earn six kills compared to the Crimson Eagles’ 35.

On the day, Renodo led the team with 20 kills while Bednarek tallied 42 assists.

Rosemont will next travel to Immaculata University for a conference match on Saturday, October 17 at 11am.
