ROSEMONT – Junior captain Priyanka Reddy (Syosset, N.Y./Syosset) and freshmen Winnie Wolfe (Wayne/Radnor) and Cassie Cuadro (Allentown/Louis E. Dieruff) were recipients of the Colonial States Athletic Conference end of the year women’s tennis awards. Reddy was named Player of the Year and earned CSAC All-Conference Second Team honors at the first singles position while Wolfe was named Rookie of the Year and Cuadro chosen as a member of the Conference Sportsmanship Team.

The all-conference team is decided through individual championship play. Reddy came in second in the first singles flight at the championships, losing to Cabrini’s Dina DiTaranto in a three set thriller 6-3, 4-6, 2-6. Reddy finished the season 16-1 bringing her collegiate wins/loss record to an impressive 46-1. She was also named the CSAC Player of the Year, her third time receiving the award. This award is voted on by all coaches of the CSAC.

Rookie of the Year is also voted on by all coaches of the CSAC. In her first year, Wolfe went an admirable 9-4 at second singles. She qualified for the CSAC individual championships, but lost in a tough match to Cabrini’s Christine Telling 1-6, 1-6.

The sportsmanship team is comprised of one student-athlete from each CSAC school who is nominated by her head coach. Cuadro’s impressive play in her first year (8-7) was only outshined by her respect, conduct and overall positive attitude towards her opponents, teammates and coaches.

The Rosemont tennis team finished the season under new head coach Jack Rubano 6-9 overall and 4-6 in the CSAC finishing sixth in the conference.
