ROSEMONT ANNOUNCES NEW ASSISTANTS FOR WOMEN’S BASKETBALL

ROSEMONT – The Rosemont College Athletic Department has named Jana Rediger and Cecelia Saunders ’07 the new assistant coaches for women’s basketball. They will assist head coach Andy McGovern who is in his eighth year at the helm of the program.

Rediger steps into the position after having coached the Philadelphia Bells AAU under 15 team. Before that position, she played professional basketball for Forsaan Alku and Tampere Pyrinto in Finland and Saarkouis Royals in Germany. She was a four year member of the Villanova University women’s basketball program, and worked the basketball camps held there every summer. She currently works for Summit Sports Training Center where she is a sports performance coach and fitness director.

Saunders comes to Rosemont after having been a four year member of the lacrosse and basketball teams at Rosemont from 2003-2007. She was an all-conference selection in both sports. After leaving Rosemont, she played professional basketball in Pully, Switzerland. She currently works for Cradle of Liberty as a program specialist.

Rediger and Saunders and the team get into action on November 21st when they travel to Baltimore, Md. For the College of Notre Dame Tip-Off Tournament.
