ROSEMONT – The Rosemont College Athletic Department in conjunction with the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) will be hosting its first annual WBCA Pink Zone event on Thursday, February 19th at the women’s basketball game against College of Notre Dame.
Originally named Think Pink, Pink Zone is an initiative started in 2007 to raise breast cancer awareness on college campuses through women’s basketball. Just last year, over 1,200 teams and organizations participated and raised over $930,000 for breast cancer awareness and research.
Rosemont student-athletes will be raising money all week leading up to the big event and the department will donate all gate money from the game. Coaches and players on both teams will be wearing pink apparel to show support and fans are also urged to wear some pink for the event. The Ramblers will be donating all money raised and proceeds from the game to the Kay Yow/WBCA Cancer Fund™.
