ROSEMONT EARNS FIRST CONFERENCE WIN IN OVERTIME THRILLER

ROSEMONT – A goal from first year Freddie Moss (Williamstown, N.J./Williamstown) in the first minute of the second overtime gave the Rosemont College men’s soccer team its first conference win of the season over Keystone College 4-3. This win improves the Ravens to 3-5 overall and 1-3 in the Colonial States Athletic Conference while the Giants drop to 3-8 and 1-2, respectively.
Moss’s goal came after a scoreless first overtime. Rosemont had the ball on the whistle and quickly drove down to goal where Moss shot the ball off a defensive deflection. He finished the game with two goals.
The Giants opened up the scoring in the 27th minute when junior Jamie Ellis (Shanklin Isle of Wight, England/Sandown) hit a laser into the opposite side of the goal. Rosemont would equalize two minutes later on a goal from Moss. Ellis finished the day with two goals.
Two more goals from first years Jalal Mohamed (Alexandria, Va./Hayfield Secondary) and Rodney Aguirre (Hammonton, Pa./Oakcrest) gave the Ravens a 3-1 lead. Ellis would score in the 41st to cut the lead to 3-2 at the half.
Junior Alex Boirand (Shanklin Isle of Wight, England/Sandown) would score the equalizer in the 45th minute.
Rosemont goalkeeper Ron Vogelei (Bensalem) recorded seven saves while Ryan Gilroy (Dallas) of the Giants had 13.
Rosemont will next travel to Arcadia University for a non-conference match on Monday, September 5th at 3:30pm.
