ASTON – The Rosemont College women’s tennis team came just short in its 5-4 loss to conference opponent Neumann University Tuesday. Rosemont captured wins at first, second and third singles as well as first doubles but could not get one more match win to seal the victory.

Rosemont’s wins were dominant in singles, winning all games in straight sets. Senior co-captain Priyanka Reddy (Syosset, N.Y./Syosset) won her first singles match 6-1, 6-1 while first year Olesya Kuchma (St. Davids/Radnor) had a strong match defeating her second singles opponent 6-0, 6-1.

First year Karis Coad (Baltimore, Md./Clarkstown South) rounded out the winners with a 6-3, 6-2 win at third singles.

The Ravens had only one doubles victory. Reddy and Kuchma won at first singles 8-2. They are now 9-2 on the season.

Rosemont is in a must win situation to have any hopes to make playoffs. They will next host Marywood University on Friday, September 9th at 3:30pm.
