Coyne, Montecchio and Johnson Selected for All-CSAC Awards

Three members of Rosemont College’s Women’s Basketball team were named to Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) post-season honors.

Junior Ashley Montecchio (Sun Valley/Aston, Pa.) was selected to the All-CSAC Team, Honorable Mention. She became the 7th member of the Rosemont 1,000-point club this season. Montecchio had a strong season, finishing 4th in the CSAC in scoring (16.4 points/game), 4th in the CSAC in free throw percentage (77.3%) and third in blocks (1.3/game). She led the Ravens with 41 blocks and 46 steals this season. Ashley was named the CSAC Player-of-the-Week and Honorable Player-of-the-Weed this season.

First year Liz Coyne (Downingtown West/West Chester, Pa.) was named the CSAC Rookie-of-the-Year. She also was selected to the Honorable Mention grouping in the All-CSAC team. In the conference Coyne ranked 2nd in scoring (18.8 points/game), 5th in field goal percentage (47.8%) and 5th in offensive rebounds. For the Ravens, Liz ranked tops in scoring, points/game, minutes played, field goals made and free throws made. Liz was also named to the CSAC Player-of-the-Week this season.

Senior Vanessa Johnson (G.W. Carver/Philadelphia) was named to the CSAC All-Sportsmanship team for Women’s Basketball for the 2011-2012 season. Johnson finished her collegiate career as a force in the paint for the Ravens, leading Rosemont with 246 boards (9.8/game).

Representatives of the All-Sportsmanship Team are nominated by each CSAC coach.
