Montecchio Grabs Third CSAC Player-of-the-Week Nod This Season

ASTON, Pa. – Senior Ashley Montecchio (Aston, Pa./Sun Valley) averaged 26.3 points, 10.3 rebounds, 4.0 steals, and 3.0 blocks for the Ravens during their 2-1 week. In Monday’s loss to first place Cabrini, she posted a 12-point/11 rebound double-double, while adding two blocks and three steals. In Wednesday’s win over Centenary, Montecchio went for 27 points, 11 rebounds, and five steals, before wrapping up the week with a monster performance in Rosemont’s win over Gwynedd-Mercy. She narrowly missed a triple-double, posting 40 points, 10 rebounds, and seven blocks, while also adding five steals. It was her second 40-point performance of the season, and 12th double-double, and she enters the week leading the nation in scoring (25.1 ppg).

This represents Montecchio’s third CSAC Player-of-the-Week announcement this season as she has been named Player-of-the-Week for the weeks of 12/3/2012 and 1/14/2012. She was named to the CSAC Player-of-the-Week Honor Roll for the week of 11/26/2012.
