Montecchio’s Prolific Week Earns Her 2nd Player-of-the Week Nod for Season

ASTON, Pa. – Senior forward Ashley Montecchio (Aston, Pa.) turned in another outstanding week, earning her second CSAC Player-of-the-Week recognition of the 2012/2013 season. In the past week the Ravens won two of three games as she averaged 29.3 points, 11.7 rebounds and 3.3 blocks per game. In Monday’s non-conference victory over Delaware Valley College, Montecchio broke her own mark while scoring a school-record 40 points while grabbing 13 rebounds and blocking four shots. She also set a school record by going 20-for-23 from the foul line. In Wednesday’s win over Marywood University she posted another double-double, with 28 points and 12 rebounds to go with six blocks and five steals. She wrapped up the week with a 20-point, 10-rebound effort in Saturday’s loss to first place Cabrini.

She enters the week leading the nation in scoring, with an average of 25.1 points/game and is currently tied for the school record in blocks.
