Rosemont Soccer Playoff Scenarios Explained

10/25/2012 11:25

ROSEMONT, Pa. – Both Rosemont Ravens soccer teams have qualified for the post-season. Many Rosemont soccer supporters are wondering who the teams will be playing in the CSAC playoffs and where the games will be played.

Men’s Soccer

The men’s soccer playoff scenario is fairly clear. If the men defeat Neumann in their final regular-season game (at Neumann on Saturday, 10/27, 2:00pm) then the Ravens will win the CSAC regular-season championship and will be seeded #1 for the playoffs. If the Ravens lose on Saturday they will be seeded #2 for the playoffs. In either case, the team will open their post-season hosting a CSAC semi-final game on Thursday, November 1.

The CSAC standings for Men's Soccer as of 10/25/2012 are as follows:

  W L T Pts
x-Neumann 7 0 1 22
x-Rosemont 7 1   21
x-Marywood 5 1 2 17
x-Cabrini 5 2 2 17
Cairn 3 5   9
Keystone 3 5   9
Gwynedd-Mercy 2 4 2 8
Immaculata 2 4 2 8
Centenary 2 5 1 7
Baptist Bible 0 9   0

Women’s Soccer

What is certain is that the Ravens will be scheduled to play a CSAC quarterfinal game on Monday, 10/29. It is also certain that Rosemont will end the season seeded as #3, #4 or #5, depending on the outcomes of all other CSAC games on Saturday. If Rosemont finishes 3rd or 4th they will open the post-season at home. If the Ravens finish in 5th, they will open the post-season on the field of the 4th place team.

The Ravens will finish in 3rd or 4th place if, on Saturday, either Neumann loses their game at Immaculata or if Gwynedd-Mercy loses their game at Marywood.
